its ok

Im not expert Igo player, but my Igo grade is around 12k. according to descrition, A.I. engine support amateur 1d. I wish to learn something from A.I. engine, but it is not being my opponent. well, but price is just .99 cent and not bad to beginner. so I give 3 star to it. If A.I. engine can more upgrade then Ill give 5 start.

Interesting...

Go game is interesting game, but its too hard to win. CleverGos AI seems to be strong than me. Ill study it.

Not 1d

Played it once on 9x9 and once on 19x19 set to the highest level (3) on a 3GS and won easily both times. I am AGA 2.7 kyu. Its more like 4-5 kyu on 9x9 and maybe 9k on 19x19. Still impressive and it will certainly beat beginners, but usless for intermediate level players like myself.

Good app

CleverGo is good. Its cheep, strong and quick in comparison with other apps. I have a feeling of satisfaction. But I hope itll be strong more and more in future.

Prone to crash

Ai is relatively strong, but most of the time too slow. 3 star because the game is easily crashed.

Strong (for iPad), but needs work

Computer is maybe 10kyu, which is surprisingly strong for iPad. It also tends not to make bone headed plays like GnuGo often does. Menus and English translations are awkward, but work.

Move

It needs to highlight the AIs last move or have an option for it

Crashes...

Crashes a lot or very little depending on day, crashes if you click off iphone, needs 2 player mode to play it with a friend. Other than that impossible to win. Needs a tutorial, too.

Good app

It is a good software for beginner to intermediate level players. The ai engine is around 9 kyu. Well worth $1.99

FAIL!!!! THIS DOES NOT WORK ON IPHONE 4. DO NOT BUY IT.

If I were a professional Programmer I would not want my name attached to this project at all. The program does not even work on the Iphone 4. It claims you can play against an AI when in all actuality you will not even be able to do that. Instead the game will constantly zoom into the board and you will never be able to see pieces you place. I have played go for many years and this program is a disappointment of epic proportions. I emailed what ever email address was on the about this program page and have not received a reply of any sort. I would like a solution to my problem or a refund on this purchase. This App should not be even be in the App store as it seems it has not even been coded well enough to even play run the game.

Too many crashes

Too many crashes

Good app!!

The AI is quite competent, seems to play based on influence and point value rather than typical programmed response. Still has trouble with ko threats though and is a big weakness. Cannot place stone aftet iphone times out and must log out and back in, and highest AI can take a few minutes to move, but doesnt crash on me. :) Still, best AI i have played, makes valuable moves and i enjoy it.

Whoever made this app.....

Whoever made this OBVIOUSLY doesnt know how Go works. The computer just ends up passing randomly because according to the computer, it has all of the territory on the board, when it obviously doesnt. I just played a game to make an example of this: On a 9x9 board it only had 3 spaces of territory with 3 captured stones and it passed. (???) I had 8 spaces of territory with 2 stones captured. The score of the game would be either 5 to 1 or 10 to 6 (depending on how you count captured stones. Both always have a difference of 4 stones). PLUS I was white so I had Komi of 6.5. I would have won. It said QUOTE "Black is NINETY-TWO, White is TWO, komi is 6 1/2, Black win for 83 1/2 point." How does this app get high ratings? I like the UI (but it has bad English) and it has multiplayer, something very few other apps do. But the game itself absolutely FAILS.

Grow your game

If youre around 17k like me, then this app can help you grow your game. I especially strengthened my opening game by playing against the computer on easy level. The downside is if you are below 18k you will lose over and over, and every time you lose a giant sign drops down saying YOU LOSE! Which is kind of demoralizing. This app is the only one I have found that can be used as a virtual go board to play against others with built in rules. I give this app 5 stars.

Still not working on ipad3

Unfortunately the update does not install, and it is still impossible to use this otherwise good app on the ipad 3. If you own a new ipad, or consider upgrading, stay away until they fix it.

Not compatible with new iPad

Please include in your next update compatability with new iPad. The whole board does not show...it only shows a quarter of the board. Thanks.

Not working in ipad3

1. Not working in iPad 3 although it says "fixed UI issue". 2. Volume button doesnt work in iPad 3. Please fix it. Especially the 1st problem. 在ipad3無法工作。 另外音量控制按鈕也不起作用。 請盡快修復錯誤。

Getting there

UI is now fixed! Just finished my first game. Im not an experienced player but I enjoyed it. *edit* Bumped the score down to 3 stars after I realized the volume could not be adjusted, only muted. I do have the New iPad and the game works in all regards with the exception of the sound issue.

Fixed

This app is a great way to learn Go if you are a beginner. The most recent update fixed the issues with the new iPad.

Go

Good needs work also more difficulty choices and a ranking for the difficulty like 12k or however strong
